An amazing story of courage and love that survives despite the blood, violence and depravity that only ancient Rome can bring.
The main character Thea starts off as a simple slave although there is nothing simple about her journey. Truly a testament to her character to not break after all she goes through and still smiles at the end. She is very deserving of the epic love she finds.
Quinn is an artist who brings the characters to life in such a real way your heart will feel the same tenderness, hopelessness, despair and need for vengeance. At the same time ancient Rome is resurrected and you walk the streets, hear and see the bloodlust in the colosseum, and feel the awe people held for those in power. To miss out on experiencing this book would be a tragedy.
